Engineering and manufacturing of electrical equipment and industrial automated systems

At the service of the Pyrenees

With a view to providing its customers with ever more services, SEMER is formalizing its partnership with Electricité Montagne Pyrénées (EMP), a local player particularly active in the Pyrenees.

SEMER/EMP complementarity

The control-command expertise and the production cycle of the equipment are always provided by SEMER, explains Marc BOTTOLLIER, President of SEMER. We rely on the skills of the EMP teams for on-site interventions. We also train its staff in our products.”

During the successive phases of an electrical equipment renovation project, for example, EMP technicians quickly intervene in the field for the first site scooting.

The design, manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality control stages remain the responsibility of SEMER and will always take place in Passy's workshops.

Wiring, installation, connections can then be made by the EMP team, as can the power-up and testing of sensors and motors.

The SEMER teams carry out the final stage of adjustment and start-up. The collaboration with EMP obviously continues after the commissioning since the Ariège company is present locally to provide assistance at the beginning of operation, provide assistance with maintenance operations, establish diagnostics and troubleshooting if necessary.

The after-sales service process will always start with a first contact with SEMER. After the diagnostic phase, and for increased reactivity, a first level of troubleshooting can be provided by EMP, thanks in particular to a stock of components made available on site by SEMER.

A longstanding collaboration

SEMER had already been working with EMP for several years; “Electricité Montagne Pyrénées is a small team of young enthusiasts," notes Marc BOTTOLLIER. They combine their electrotechnical skills and their passion for the mountains to work in the cable transport and hydraulics sector.” EMP technicians work on high-voltage substations as well as on power or control-command equipment; they have the necessary skills for cabling, connections and optical fibre pulling, adding to this their know-how for work that is difficult to access.

Among the latest collaborations between SEMER and EMP, an emergency operation in high season on the Ax-les-Thermes gondola lift to replace the inverter in one night, “a successful intervention thanks to the proximity of EMP, which was able to prepare it in advance.” For each situation - whether it is the replacement of the control cabinets of a chairlift in Saint-Lary, the installation of the new Planell de la Font chairlift in Soldeu, or work on service cable cars for hydroelectric installations - EMP brings its skills and knowledge of the field.
